This weekend our community gathered 30 of our friendliest faces and put on a Be the Match Drive in Rochester Park!
For the thousands of people diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma, a cure exists. Over the past 25 years Be The Match ® , operated by the National Marrow Donor Program ® (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. Most patients don’t have a fully matched donor in their family, and turn to Be the Match in hopes of finding a match for their survival.
This weekend WIYP registered nearly 60 people in hopes of being someone’s match and having the opportunity to save someone’s life. It was an amazing day filled with love, hope, and beautiful souls! Please visit the Be the Match website for more information and request a cheek swab kit if you’d like to join the registry yourself!
Thank you to all of our ladies who helped spread the word, volunteered your time and resources, and helped transplant more hope into the world!
